True Facts On Healthy Oils - Some Cautions!

Let's set the record straight on what IS healthy and what is NOT
because some of you have not been updated and are still following
advice from manufacturers' invested interests and medicos'
cholesterol scare-campaigns. Those who are updated should find
this post interesting as well.

Some of you out there need to have doubts about your doubts!

A moderate amount of Omega 6 found in Healthy Oils like Pumpkin Seed Oil, Flaxseed oil  (18:57 ratio)  Almond Oil  (70% Mono - 17% Omega 6) Extra Virgin Olive Oil  (Mostly Mono 76%) and Avocado Oil 
(71% Mono - 14% Omega 6 – 14% Omega 3)  Macadamia  (Mostly Mono 80%)
 A reasonable amount of Omega 6 Helps to Reduce Nerve Pain - Fights Inflammation - Treats Rheumatoid Arthritis but excess Omega 6 like Sunflower Oil (71:16 ratio Trans Fats) Corn Oil (57:29 ratio Trans Fats - GMO) Soy Oil (Toxic Trans Fats - GMO) Safflower (Damaged Trans Fats) Palm Oil (Most are Toxic)


Excessive Omega 6 from Unhealthy Polyunsaturated Oils
Cause Inflammation and Nerve Pain, Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Blood Clots, Heart Attacks and Stroke, Overweight and Obesity, Fluid Retention and Depression.
Sunflower, Corn, Soybean and Cottonseed oils are, by far, the worst.

Coconut Oil (Short-Chain Saturated)

It is the Long-Chain Saturated Fat we should be sparing with such as Animal Fat from barbecues and fried meats…..excessive use of cream and cheese and Greek yoghurt. That has nothing to do with the composition of Coconuts. And they were actually vilified by the Veggie Oil Industry for unfair profit that is exponential since that time. They are notorious for foistering false and misleading information on us, the unsuspecting public, I often refer to as Marketing PLOYS.

Coconut Oil and Coconut Milk are a different story, because they have a totally different type of saturated fat that is classified as Short-Chain which is different in nature, like the contrast of Omega 3 to Omega 6.
Studies done in 2004 took coconut oil and placed it in a drink given to Alhzeimer’s patients and observed significant increase in levels of ketones which translated to improved memory. Clearly, that is not the case with excess
Long-Chain Fat Foods referred to above.

A sensible amount of Nuts and Avocados are reputed to being very beneficial to our health – in moderation – and SO IS Coconut!  Notice, none of these are animal-products? Those are the Saturated Fats that affect our health poorly when unchecked (the amount we have). Did you hear Atkins died on the High-Fat Diet he was promoting world-wide? I wonder how many of his unsuspecting fans went that way.
No, Coconut Oil and Coconut Butter (do not confuse with copha) have a good influence on our health – they’re favorably Good for Our Brain.
 
A small amount of Grass-Fed Dairy Butter has a unique property of CLA
that actually benefits our health in moderate amounts.
 
The Polyunsaturates Industry Deliberately Likes To Mislead People
 
Like the Agriculture industry, Cane Sugar and Synthetic Sugar industries, MSG and GMO industries, they have led many innocent people astray in their Choices of Foods when shopping and dining out – especially in Fast-Food outlets.

Did you know that a reasonable amount of Polyunsaturates in healthy food staples benefit our health but polyunsaturated Oils DO NOT?

Of any seed or nut, macadamia nuts have the lowest omega-6 concentration. Macadamia nuts are higher in healthy monounsaturated fats than any seed or nut, even surpassing olive oil.
 
Industries like those mentioned above pride themselves on their ability to use skilfully crafted words when they LIE to the Public. In fact, they have Paid Scientists who have Sold their Name to lie for them – so we believe those manufacturers. Yes, they are very skilful at this and have all manner or techniques in twisting things to their gain – not ours – because the TRUTH IS that none of their products are “good for us”…… and clearly speaking, they don’t care either!

Understanding the study about saturated fat

Contentment is a good thing, it is not dependent on circumstances for our
peace of mind. Can you see the beauty of that? Maybe you will after reading this post.

A family member said these words to me today:
"I am going to enjoy what I have in life.....I am going to be content with the things
that I have and not bother with the things I don't have. I will make the most of
everything I have that is good.....it makes me contented and happy.
If we want to be happy, we need to stop and think about what we have.
Obviously, you have them because you liked them at some stage.
I'm going to enjoy them now!"

A WORD OF WISDOM!
HAPPINESS COMES AFTER CONTENTMENT.
IT IS EASIER TO BE HAPPY
WHEN YOU ARE CONTENT.


I can give a hearty "YES" to that because her words (above) are SO TRUE!
Happiness is not in endless possessions, the latest car and furniture or that something big you are waiting to happen - whatever that may be - Happiness is within your grasp once you see and find the Value of Contentment. It gives you a different mode of living that truly proves
to be beneficial.

Life does not consist of an abundance of possessions or what you wish for tomorrow!

We need to be happy with what we have to find Contentment. The two are interchangeable.
Contentment is to be preferred to 'getting things' and is conducive to our health.
This has been proven time and again.

When we are contented, we can experience happiness more often because we
can see the value in simple expectations. There are less set-backs and disappointments
- that often accompany unrealistic expectations.

We live in a world with a continual barrage of TV Advertisements and programs
that doesn't help matters. They're always telling us what and who we don't have (between the lines) reminding us what we should get, should have, should do etc Aren't you tired of it, hey? They're always programing our minds for discontent, fear, doubts, depression.

If we cut back the amount of viewing time and make our own entertainment, we would be
much happier people. We need to ask ourselves what we would do at home if there wasn't much TV to view and do it.

LET'S BE INTO LIFE - LET'S CHOOSE LIFE!

TV (television) numbs our brain and often causes poverty in Family-Lifestyle.
Let's develop other interests, hey?

My dad was a pioneer in TV Sales and Service when they came to our state in 1958.
He sold 500 of them in the first two years, mostly in a country area, when I was eight.
He retired earlier than intended because of the amount of rubbishy content that was being accepted as the norm and affecting families (they were relating with each-other less).
And I got bored with it many years ago - I like a computer better, you're in charge that way.
Occasionally, I make time to enjoy a quality DVD from my lounge-room.

I like to balance my computer activities with 'real life' activities like craft cards, cooking and gardening. They make for contentment, they really do. I love to make inspirational websites like Inspirations for You to bring peace and joy into the day of my readers, with pleasant poems and sayings accompanied with beautiful pictures. Much as I enjoy that, the thing is, even for me, that can be what I call 'Virtual Living' if I am not in my kitchen, making recipes and out in the garden watching my plants grow or having a stroll in a nearby park or feeding seeds to the ducks not far by car - all these things are true life that makes for Contentment.

Please everyone, find and experience the balance!

When we live in Contentment, there are less disgruntlements with family and friends, less complaints at God and He can enable us to be more resilient if we trust Him. Jesus said:

We can be really upset by feelings, especially looking for happiness.

We can take Contentment into each new day and we will find Happiness
as a Bi-product.

we need wisdom to know the difference - we can invite our Maker to help us make

It all hinges on CHOICE - Our Creator has given us the Power of Choice - on this Earth
in which we live - it can work for us and also against us. Yes, we need to be truly wise.
This can pay dividends and make for more Contentment and Happiness.

Wise Choices make for peace of mind. This way we can find more Enjoyment in life.
Possessions don't multiply but Moments Can!
How many good moments do you want to experience this week?
It works on the principle of building - it really does.
Let's do it today.

There are three ways we can do this:
1.) We should think about all the good things we can - dismissing the not so good.
2.) We can think about one good thing we like or love and focus on that.
3.) We can try something different that is within our reach.

It's good to actually Do Something (physically) - this engages our thoughts
in a good way - many of us think too much......that never brings us peace or happiness
because for most of us, there tends to be disturbing content - a negative bios that pulls us
down like gravity - we need to lessen such times and Enjoy more Good Moments.
They don't have to be 'Exciting' just Good - keep building those.
You can do this, it is within your reach. I proved this myself during a really hard
time in my life - I witnessed the difference between when I let myself think about what was happening at that time and when I let myself Enjoy something I liked that previously
brought me pleasure.

So You Still Think That SOY Is Healthy?

It may be news to you that Soya Beans are not meant to be ingested.
This has been known by many health professionals and researches for
some years now yet it keeps masquerading as a health food and holds it's
place in the market - the food shelves are inundated with it.

It may also surprise you to know that the one who promoted soya beans
to the world, Earl Mindell, has been discovered not to be a Nutritionist after-all.
His claims have been found to be fraudulent.

He was also exposed on video by Joseph Mercola - 
a true Nutritionist and leading Natural Health Advocate - for making false claims about Himalayan Goji Juice by Freelife International. Their claims were that they harvested Goji Berries from a belt of land in the Himalayas, that he spent years perfecting a process that 
preserved all the health properties in those Gogi Berries in an unaltered state,
including B Vitamins content. Joseph Mercola ran a Lab-Test,
found none and interviewed Earl Mindell at his mansion afterwards.

You should have seen his reaction in the following interview when Mercola's worker
went back to ask him direct questions, then said they found conflicting evidence
to his claims from the contents of the bottle he gave her to try.
Also in this Video was a brief interview with the College that was
supposed to have trained him - he had no qualifications from them. 
If this video was still on Dr Joseph Mercola's website, you could
see what kind of 'professional' introduced Soy to the World!

I was invited to a conference where he was a guest speaker
in Australia years ago and sorry to say I was quick to avoid
conversation afterwards when he stepped over to me.
I did not mean to be rude but my instincts told me "NO"
It was some months later I found Mercola's video on the Net.

Soy contains several naturally occurring compounds that are toxic to humans and animals. Soy foods block calcium and can cause vitamin D deficiencies. One health agency estimates that 100 grams of soy protein provides the estrogenic equivalent of the pill. Processing and all modern soy foods contain MSG, which cause neurological problems. Soy products inhibit thyroid function, which may lead to fatigue and mental issues. Infants on soy formula are vulnerable to developing autoimmune thyroid disease when exposed to high amounts of isoflavones over time. Long term feeding with soy formulas inhibits thyroid peroxidase

Vitamin B12 Analogs in Soy are not absorbed and actually increase the body's
requirement for B12. If you are vegan or vegetarian, you need to have a good supply
of this vitamin, not a deficit. One lady I knew many years ago was on a soy - vegetarian diet
and it affected her behavior adversely according to the husband at a later date after she
passed away early. That would have been due to a marked Vitamin B12 deficiency.


Soy is definitely one of the most controversial foods in the world.

Depending on who you ask, it is either a wonderful superfood or toxic to hormones.

Whole soybeans are rich in micronutrients, but they also contain phytates which block absorption of minerals. Soybeans are very rich in Omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids, which can cause problems.


Soy Contains Isoflavones That Function as Endocrine Disruptors
 
Estrogens are steroid hormones mostly found in females, where they play a major role in regulating sexual development and reproductive cycles.
Estrogens are also found in men, although in smaller amounts.
The way estrogens (and other steroid hormones) work, is that they travel into the nuclei of cells and activate the estrogen receptor.
When that happens, there are changes in gene expression, leading to some kind of physiologic effect.

The problem with the estrogen receptor is that it isn’t very selective in the substances that can activate it. Some substances in the environment that look like estrogen can activate it too.
This is where the whole soy thing gets interesting…

Soy contains large amounts of biologically active compounds called isoflavones, which function as phytoestrogens… that is, plant-based compounds that can activate estrogen receptors in the human body.

These isoflavones are classified as endocrine disruptors, chemicals that interfere with the normal function of hormones in the body. The key isoflavones in soy are 
Genistein, Daidzein and Glycitein.

This can cause reduced estrogen activity due to the isoflavones blocking the actual, more potent estrogen from binding, OR it can lead to an increased estrogen activity due to the isoflavones activating the receptors.

In one study, 48 women were split into two groups. One group ate their normal diet, the other supplemented with 60 grams of soy protein.
After only 14 days, the soy protein group had significant increases in proliferation (increase
in number) of the epithelial cells in the breasts, which are the cells that are most likely to
turn cancerous.

Many years ago, I was invited for lunch on occasions by a couple who presented a few interesting vegetarian dishes on the table, I was attracted to and enjoyed very much.
I met the husband some years ago who was widowed and I remember him saying 
"that's alright" to me when I said "she was a nice lady." He went on to say that he 
is relieved and his life is more restful now because she had very strange

There were other vegetarians in our street who had different protein to Soy - they were perfectly normal. Not everyone who has Soy is affected that way but here is four cases in one article, no doubt countless others. So much for the claims that Soy provides B12!

Did you know that most Soy Crops in the USA and some other counties are actually GMO
contaminated and heavily sprayed with Round-Up? Monsanto (the manufacturers of these)

Good Question - How Safe Are They Really?
When most of us wear them against our body,
young people keep them next to their pillow at night
and small children are using them......
we DO have the right to know True Facts
not what the manufacturers want us to believe. HEY?

It deeply concerns me when I see in the Site Activity Report for this website each month,
there are only 28-30 views for my page called Take Care With Mobiles - that only averages
one view a day. Fluoride, Cigarettes, Additives, MSG and Aspartame have a lot more views.
How-come people don't seem to be concerned about Mobiles/Cell-Phones?
Could it be "what the government allows is safe?"
If so, they allow Fluoride, Cigarettes, Additives, MSG and Aspartame too!
Could it be that we like using our Cell-Phones. I like to use mine, but I take necessary
precautions - I would not use any without adequate protection.
Could it be that "Ignorance is Bliss?" 
Ignorance has not been bliss for many people world-wide - children included.
A friend who did nursing for many years informed me two years ago, that removing 
head tumours above the ear has been one of two most common surgeries performed in Australia for several years now since mobiles have been in regular use.
She said that "All the Nursing Staff were Informed about It."

WE love our smartphones, but those of us who are on them obsessively could be at risk of developing carpal tunnel syndrome, a study has found.
 
SMARTPHONE addiction could be doing damage and causing pain — including numbness and tingling — in your hands and wrists, a study has found.
An international study, starting with 500 students, found that 54 per cent of “intensive” users — those using devices excessively each day — showed signs of carpal tunnel syndrome.
Intensive users showed signs of effects on the median nerve within the carpal tunnel and the transverse carpal ligament, resulting in numbness, tingling, and pain in the hand.
In a study of 48 university students by Hong Kong’s Polytechnic University, intensive users of electronic devices reported more wrist/hand pain than non-intensive users.
The findings indicate that caution may be warranted when using handheld electronic devices, in order to minimise the chance of developing carpal tunnel syndrome.
 
“Our prior work identified that out of 500 students, 54 per cent of intensive users and 12 per cent of non-intensive users reported musculoskeletal symptoms in relation to use of electronic devices.
 
“We randomly selected 48 students using stratified sampling from the intensive and non-intensive users for further investigation and our results showed that excessive use of electronic devices may be linked to a greater risk of developing carpal tunnel syndrome,” Dr Peter White, co-author of the Muscle and Nerve study said.
“Therefore, vigilance in educating and monitoring young people using electronic devices is important, especially children and adolescents as they are less capable of self-regulating.”

Vegetable Oils are Better for Your Health? Time to Question!

On the Low-Fat Diets page of this website there’s a subtitle Low Fat Lies!
And where you will find a quote from an excellent Nutritionist that reads:
“WE NEED TO SEPARATE FAT FROM FICTION.” 
That is So True – we have Manufacturers Ploys and the Medical Profession’s
Cholesterol Scare Campaign to thank for all the Misinformation we have been given
about Healthy Fats and so-called ‘healthy’ Polyunsaturated Products like
Vegetable Oils and Margarines – they are both “cheap and nasty” yes, Perilous to
our Health!

In the public interest, they should be banned and removed from shelves in grocery stores.
In our own personal interest, they should not be found in our shopping carts
because the Truth of the matter is:

They are unbalanced – way too high in Omega 6
They undergo highly toxic and unethical manufacture
Contrary to popular opinion, they are highly unstable oils
AND
They actually cause some of the very health conditions
they are supposed to “protect us from”
That is mostly because the Molecules in Vegetable Oils and Margarines
Being synthetic, actually CLASH with our Molecular Structure –
Our body sees them as Foreign Invaders!

This knowledge is out in the open on various websites and books in recent years. These “Vegetable Oils” do not sound so “healthy for you” now, do they?

 "they are actually found to cause cancer, diabetes, obesity, aging, thrombosis, arthritis, and immune-deficiencies."

As for Canola, that is the Greatest CON that ever hit the Food Industry and made
it's way to family tables. Better late than never to correct this mistake, at-least in

Canola Oil Con

The canola plant is a hybridized version of the rapeseed.
Rapeseed oil first appeared during the Industrial Revolution, where it served as a lubricant in ships, steam engines, and other machinery. Note that rapeseed oil is not to be confused with grapeseed oil.
While popular for industrial use, rapeseed as food was severely limited by certain potent anti-nutrients it contained, such as Erucic Acid. Two-thirds of the omega-9 (monounsaturated) fats in rapeseed oil is erucic acid. Studies of this fat in the diet indicate problems. One study of Chinese children consuming rapeseed oil indicated an association with Keshan’s disease, which causes fibrotic lesions on the heart (2). Other studies of animals indicated the cardiotoxicity, renal toxicity or hematological toxicity of erucic acid as well (34).

Rapeseed Oil Transforms to Canola Oil

Transforming dangerous rapeseed oil into a fat that could be safely consumed by both humans and livestock proved no easy task. Plant breeders in Canada finally hit upon the right formula in the late 1970’s using seed splitting.
This technique of genetic manipulation produced a variety of rapeseed that is low in erucic acid. Even better, the hybrid is high in oleic acid, the beneficial monounsaturated fat in olive oil.
The initial name for this hybridized oil was LEAR (Low Erucic Acid Rapeseed) oil. But, this acronym didn’t prove catchy enough. Eventually, this new rapeseed hybrid was renamed CANOLA by combining the words CANADA and OIL. This acronym proved much more marketable.

Canola One of the First Crops to Undergo Genetic Modification

In addition to the seed splitting, the canola plant was one of the first to go through and get acceptance for Genetic Modification in 1995. GMO crops are Roundup ready, which means they can be liberally sprayed with the herbicide glyphosate without wilting and dying.
With the backing of Monsanto, the FDA, the Canadian government, and two health gurus alike, this truly problematic crop was crowned King of Edible Oils by the processed food system.

Mind - Emotions and Health Conditions

It has now been discovered that the way we think and feel much of the time,
can and does impact our health for good and not so good. So in the interest
of better health and happy dispositions, I am writing these things,
so you can be aware of them.
 
 
Fear, conflict and un-forgiveness show up in cancer. Bitterness and anger show up in the liver or gallbladder. Worry and anxiety show up in allergies,digestive and gut disorders. Hate and resentment show up in arthritis and inflammation. Negativity shows up in poor quality health. Each one of these can lead to a host of different maladies and mental disorders – yes, they create chemical imbalances along with a poor diet. Stress, allowed to go by unmanaged is the biggest, most common threat to most people’s health.
 
So we need to work with our attitudes, quality of our thoughts……….managing our diet and stress levels to gain or maintain good health.
 
Most people don’t avail themselves of enough sleep and exercise. Sunshine and fresh-air. Affording yourself more of these can improve your health significantly.
 
 
Don’t underestimate the benefits from our Creator and Nature – the most overlooked promoter of good physical and mental health in this rushed and busy generation. On a regular basis, you need to foster a special environment – some nature spot – to nourish your mind and emotions, bring fresh air into your body and lift your temperament. We all need this visual reminder of our Creator on a regular basis that will strengthen our spirit against so much exposure to stressful times.
 
 
Just something like bearing grudges often enough sets off stress signals in our bodies, that in time have to affect our health somehow, either physically or mentally. So try to practice kindness to yourself and the other person and let this pay dividends to your health. Most times, grudges come about by perceiving things wrongly, letting our imagination work overtime, misinterpreting the other person or failing to make allowances. Besides, it takes up so much energy, that could be better spent, keeping our mental real-estate more
peaceful and happier.
 
 
Having said that, some of us do need to acquire the skills of making boundaries, when someone (a family member or friend) keeps offending. This can be stressful I know. We need to work at communications in those situations – especially with family members because they are permanent. And some of us would do well to choose our friends better and make
 a few amendments.
 
 
Also, some of us do ourselves no favors with self-imposed obligations like “this person really needs me”……or……”what would they do without me?”……or……”I can’t say this or that to them, they would be very upset”. If you practice love for the other person, fine…….but if you don’t practice love for yourself, not so fine. Some of you need to remember these things in your considerations. Some of you do not have the ability to say “no” and you need to acquire that because nothing is worth the threat to your health that can be over time. I wish you well.

Many of us are under so much constant daily stress that we hardly recognize it anymore. And, sometimes, the chronic stress is unrecognizable and may be subconscious (such as negative thoughts, unresolved emotional traumas or toxicity found in our workplaces, community, and relationships).
 
Deep breathing, yoga, meditation, journaling, prayer, practicing gratitude, playing outside and sharing good conversation with friends are all great ways to reduce stress in your life.
 
 
Learning to love ourselves can be one of the most challenging components of health. But working to create emotional peace, and practicing self-compassion and self-love is powerful.
 
 
According to Louise Hay, the go-to guru for the connection between illness and emotion, many people with autoimmune diseases have, deep within their bodies, some kind of destructive message that needs to be revealed and transformed.
 
 
In my eyes, this destructive message correlates very deeply to your disease. Autoimmune disease is essentially your physical body betraying you (by attacking you). Part of the underlying emotional healing that needs to take place is releasing your own self-betrayal.

Many people with autoimmune disease are relieved to know that they have a tremendous amount of power when it comes to their health. There are many options, in addition to or instead of, a prescription medication regimen.
 
It’s often the overlooked, unconventional things that can turn the tides toward healing
 in your life.

Let’s Pursue Health – What’s Right for You?

Some people have a strong belief structure, more so than others and find the need to ‘teach’ others and duplicate themselves as it were. Often, they have an insatiable appetite for knowledge and have to pass it on. But wait a minute, our Creator made us individuals – in body chemistry, family setting etc  and how they view life and health may not be right for us.

We all have a different set of values to live with throughout life. The problem is when some people don’t think that is enough and they have to let their favorite plants run right over their neighboring fences (anyone who is polite to listen). And when they do not or will not stop, these people are what I call ‘boundary violators’……….they’re not satisfied unless everyone believes what they believe…..aye?

We’re all given a garden, so to speak, to grow our favorite flowers in – maybe fruits and veges:) To each one of us is given the awesome privilege of making choices and selecting certain interests. So we too, have our set of values in which we can determine what’s right for us and what we adopt.

As a Researcher, I have seen several things through the years that benefit our health and  deserve merit, even if some of these are diversely different.  I do wish that professional people could practice more maturity and respect each-other’s  teachings. One size does not fit all. Professional people should not impose their personal views and preferences on their readers or clientele. I find such behavior contemptible.  The Medical profession is on the offensive often with chemical drugs and practices often – should we add to that? No, we’re here to offer people answers and solutions and hopefully some peace of mind.

There are some things that exist, such as toxic foods and chemicals, foods that benefited us 50–60 years ago before the commercial industry distorted things, regardless of our beliefs or wishes that we all need to address at some point of time, but to live our lives to the next man’s rules and regs is simply not in keeping with how we are made with a free will etc  obviously because our Creator likes for each one to have/find an expression in life.

With so much wealth of knowledge and experience, the Natural Health Profession has a lot to offer people Today.  Especially with recent and new discoveries by Health Scientists – some of them touching on the work of former pioneers whose work has been forgotten. This is a dispensation of Hope where hope has been lost for so many in recent decades due to commercial agriculture and the like. So many things that were foundational to good  health in the days of our great grandparents have been turned up-side-down to the detriment of our health along with stressful times that affect our health as well. These foods are being restored to individual lives and families who see the common-sense in them. Let us all venture there and benefit as best we can……hey?

Life can be good to us when we are good to our bodies, let’s not dispute what avenues we’re taking, but be wise in our choices we make, so they are right for us.

I believe there is a time to speak out and a time to shut up – we do not have the right to make people’s decisions for them.

Beautiful Sunshine – What a Blessing

Sunshine is actually Good for You – Come outside and Enjoy some Again
Yes, it's Good for Flowers and it's Good for You too!

There is a necessity in these times for Switching Off from the Cares of Life and sitting or walking in the sunshine is a nice way to do that – accompanied with fresh air or quiet stillness where you can almost hear the silence. Even the quiet sounds around you can give you a peaceful sense of company, being tuned to the outdoor environment –
it is really quite restful.   


Sunshine has a favorable impact on our mood. We can influence our mood levels for good instead of spending so much time indoors. Those who get fresh air and sunshine are happy generally_ look at the home gardeners!


Yes sunlight is actually an essential element for a happy disposition, missing in many people who live sedentary lifestyles or work many hours in high rise buildings etc  It also sets the circadian rhythm that is nature's sleep/wake cycle within. When we have sunshine in the morning for instance, we sleep well at night. A sleep chemical is released from our pineal gland called Melatonin. Yes, sunshine can keep levels of Serotonin and Melatonin from sinking and making us feel lethargic and listless.


Just like exercise helps us to stay off apathy, sunlight is good for us. There's so much misguided talk about Cancer as there is about Cholesterol. It's only over exposure to 
sunshine that can lead to skin cancer in some people we hear so much about.

It has actually been discovered that lack of sunshine and sunscreens cause more skin cancers or too much sunshine when your body is toxic and stressed through modern diets laden with chemicals. So why not go out and ENJOY!

Some of us remember when grandparents sat outside in the sunshine for 30-50 minutes each day and mothers used to give their babies and toddlers a little sunbath without nappy or clothing on - how this would be a happy and peaceful time. Children at school would even be told to go out and play in the sunshine at lunch time. That's because there are so many benefits.


It reduces stress and depression by causing a release of endorphins - our body's own mood elevator. So it enhances our mental outlook and sense of well being.
Our immune system is strengthened by exposure to moderate sunlight.

Having 10-15 minutes of sunshine in the morning, without glasses or sunshades on helps to set the circadian rhythm for melatonin to be released at night.

It is well documented that, if we are not exposed to sunshine, our body rhythms run 50 minutes slower every day. This can can disturb our sleep/wake cycle as well as the rest of our body's hormonal rhythms.

All these good benefits for enjoying some time outdoors.
We may even hear some birds singing or tweeting in the trees.
